Marionette is a 15 minute coming-of-age drama that follows a quiet twelve year old puppeteer, Ruth (Beth Bradfield) through a performance with her local theatre group. When she supports another young actress through her first period on stage, she finds her voice. The film is privately funded and endorsed by Tampax, currently in Post-Production.
Mercy is a 12 minute social-realist drama about a young Care Support Worker (Saffron Rose) who bunks off work to get an abortion. The man with Cerebral palsy who she supports teaches her a valuable lesson about taking care of herself. The film was part funded by The Chapman Charitable Trust and Warner Brothers Discovery, currently entering the international festival circuit.
Underbelly is a 10 minute social-realist drama about an apprentice Butcher (Stephen John McMillan) is forced to take care of his older sister’s newborn child while she suffers Postpartum Depression. When he takes it to work in a shoebox, tragedy strikes. Underbelly won BEST FILM and BEST NEW TALENT at the BFI Futures Film Festival 2023, amongst 8 other international awards at BAFTA and BIFA Qualifying Festivals.
